• Airbags

• Anti-lock braking system (ABS)

Without ABS, if the driver suddenly applies the brakes, the steering wheels would lock up, making it impossible to control the vehicle and causing it to lose control.

• Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

Adaptive cruise control (ACC) uses sensors and radar mounted on the vehicle, usually at the front, to monitor the vehicle ahead and maintain a safe distance. It will limit acceleration at a reasonable level based on real-time calculations to avoid collisions at high speeds, and automatically brake when the speed of the vehicle in front decreases. • Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)

Automatic emergency braking (AEB) systems are now appearing on many new car models. They use sensors to detect the possibility of a collision, and if the driver doesn't react in time, the car will brake automatically. Data from the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration shows that the probability of rear-end collisions is reduced by 50% in cars equipped with AEB. Of course, the computer reacts faster than you do. The brakes will engage even before you press the brake pedal. However, many car owners say this function is too sensitive and annoying.

• Lane Keep function

This feature uses cameras to detect lane markings and identify your lane. If you deviate from the lane, it will warn you and may steer you back into the correct lane. Additionally, some vehicles have a Lane Departure Warning function to alert you when your wheels begin to cross the lane markings.

• Blind Spot Detection (BSD)

Blind spot detection uses sensors to warn you when objects enter your vehicle's blind spots that you cannot see. Typically, the blind spot warning system will illuminate an orange or yellow light on the rearview mirror to alert you.

• Rearview camera

A rear-view camera has two functions: firstly, it shows you what's behind you, useful when reversing, and secondly, it allows you to easily see children, animals, or small objects. Rear-view cameras are usually wide-angle cameras, giving you a wider field of view compared to the cameras used on smartphones.

• Safety Exit Assist

For example, on the Hyundai Santa Fe, this function prevents the car door from opening when another vehicle approaches from behind. It reduces the risk of children accidentally opening the door and causing collisions with other vehicles, as well as preventing carelessness from occupants when opening doors in general. This is an extended function of the aforementioned blind spot warning system.

• Anti-Lock Breaking System (ABS)

Anti-lock braking system (ABS) will prevent the brakes from locking up when you apply the brakes in an emergency, especially on slippery or icy roads. ABS allows you to maintain steering control and bring the vehicle to a safe position. ABS is now a fairly basic feature and is found on most new cars sold.

• Traction Control System (TCS)

Traction control is useful when the wheels are not on the same plane, or when driving on slippery roads, uphill, etc. It controls traction, preventing the drive wheels from slipping during acceleration or on slippery surfaces. Thanks to Traction Control, the vehicle can overcome rough terrain more easily without needing a differential lock.

• Adaptive Headlight

To use headlights properly while driving, we must reduce the upper half of the beam by using a suitable reflector to avoid dazzling other road users. With conventional headlights, because they only shine straight ahead, when turning left or right, the light follows the steering wheel and the vehicle's angle. Only when the vehicle has finished turning can we see the entire road surface. With Adaptive Headlights, the reflector automatically tilts in the direction of the turn, so the headlights illuminate a wider angle, providing better visibility at night. In addition, Adaptive Headlights can also adjust the light intensity to avoid bothering oncoming traffic. Of course, everything runs automatically thanks to a camera and sensor system; no manual adjustments are required.
